sony vgn-CS11S/Q

hi my name is steve, and i got a nasty problem i own a sony vgn-cs11s/q and the cooling fan is very noisey is there anyware in bristol i can get a new one and are thay hard to fit as i have never fitted one before

Hi bassplayer001,  Sony have made an annoucement concerning a noise from fans see the annoucement below.

 

Some VAIO notebook models of VGN-CS series and VGN-BZ series can produce a clicking, scraping, rattling, or a continuous loud noise while the cooling fan is revolving.

As part of our commitment to quality, for any customer who requires repair of their VAIO computer due to the above mentioned issue, Sony will cover the cost of this repair during the first 4 years following the date of purchase of the model in question. In case your model is shown in the list below, we invite you to contact VAIO Support to arrange service for your VAIO.

Applicable Models

  • VGN-BZ1x, VGN-BZ2x
  • VGN-CS1x, VGN-CS2x, VGN-CS3x

I suggest you contact Sony Vaio support - http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/index.aspx?m=0&l=en_GB

 

Log-in then click Get In Touch

 

Once you are logged in you may wish to read the announcement to do so type Fan Noise into the search box and click on the search magnifying glass.

 

Under the words Useful Links, click on Continuous loud or abnormal fan noise

 

You should now see the announcement.

i just would be happy to answer your question

this sony vaio cs11s they have the same problem

even it's new aftter 1 year will have the sam problem it's mistake from sony  vaio

for this model so when the prosssor  is running it will get hot the fan start  working contunues with out stopping

i request from sony to fix this problem  laptop looks great but this problem make him shit

 

any way i'm coming to answer your question i had the same laptop and happen to me waht happen to you

the open your laptop by your self it' so easy to open it do not be scert just take the old one then replace it by the new one will be working properly trust me do not take it any where fix by your self they will charge lot for no thing

welcome to Club VAIO..

 

Thanks for sharing your solution but as Sony have announced that they will cover the cost of repair during the first 4 years following the date of purchase of CS series Vaio's that develope the fan problem, I wouldn't recommend that CS series owners follow your advice epecially if they are still within their first four years of ownership as this will void any chance of Sony doing the repair..
